My Booktober Fail and a Win!

This post is massively overdue and for that I apologise.

Booktober did not go as well as I had hoped. I only managed to get through two of the four books that I had planned to read as I was filling my time with all sorts of random things rather than sitting down with a good book.

On the up side, I was the lucky winner of Lauren's giveaway on her blog oilauren.

I won this year's Books Are My Bag tote bag designed by Tracey Emin.
The back of the bag has lots of different authors names listed on there. I've already got some use out of this bag as it is quite sturdy and large enough even for someone like me, who carries all manner of clutter around.

The second item in the giveaway was a copy of The Bookshop Book by Jen Campbell. I am a fan of her Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops booms and I am looking forward to reading this. It is described as "a love letter to bookshops all around the world."

The final part of the prize is a copy of The Unknown Unknown by Mark Forsyth. This is an essay commissioned for independent booksellers week about the experience of going into a book shop and discovering new books that you never knew you wanted.

Thanks again to the lovely Lauren for my prize (and the Malteasers that came along with it - they didn't last long!).

I'm currently keeping myself busy with reading The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, but I have many cosplay and other craft plans taking shape so watch this space!
